The question of having isolated ground systems or not becomes usual, but the reality tells that it depends on each case, in which the proper system must be applied. Nowadays, simple and concise analysis can be made to determine which configuration my Grounding System should have.

Examples: Electric networks, telecommunication systems, telephony, computer centers, data networks, automation, control, video and alarm systems, and any other service can hold several Grounding systems (i.e. more than 6 systems can co-exist in a single site or location).

The grounds need to be totally integrated, becoming a coordinated ground network, which refers to a Coordinated Grounding System (CGS).
